YAY FOR ME my first post for 2007! (: and also my 60th post on this blog, nevermind if the 60th post isn't something that you usually celebrate.

anyway, can't say that nothing much has been happening, even though it's only the first week of school (and the sec ones are still happily enjoying orientation), because a lot of stuff has been happening.

twothirteen. i think i've already grown to like this class quite a bit (because we are seriously dysfunctional and i am dysfunctional so we complement, perfectly) (because it is obvious we are fun-loving people!), or at any rate, i've grown to like the teachers that we'll see over the year. they bring lots of energy and enthusiasm to the classroom, and it is absolutely contagious, so yes, this year's going to be a whole lot of fun (unless we do some unforgivable deed)!

[ms leow is really cool, and i ended up with a mild stomachache from laughing too much during her lesson. her style is kind of different from ms seah's: one is, well, hyper and the other is rather cool and composed. haha (: i'm thankful we got ms lim for our form teacher - and chenlaoshi for our clet - because she seems and is awfully nice. i kind of miss mrs mohd for geog, but mrs ho appears to be equally good as well. -faster paced lessons?- we're doing chem for science first, sadly. (means no chem PT, grawr.) umm, i'm not commenting on the chem teacher. i shouldn't be commenting on any teacher actually - in case they, or the school, start googling for blogs, but hey, i'm not lambasting them or anything, so i should be safe, right? and anyway, math-science-lit-geog = good combination = fun fridays!]

oh, and it seems that our class is already rather bonded, or at the very least, frightfully efficient. (hey, we already have our class googlegroups, courtesy of weiqing!) of course, i guess we still tend to go around with our old classmates, but it's apparent that some form of class spirit has already emerged within us! yay for 213 (:

and uhh, advanced strand math? someone please enlighten me on what the super pythgoras' theorem is. and grawr @ 2 extra summatives! (but anyway i think it's going to be quite exciting, other than well, the 2 extra summatives. >.<) hmm, i didn't know mrs bala would, umm, recommend me for it? [and ohmygosh, raffles academy - because directly abbreviating it RA is bound to cause controversies - sounds awfully cool. skipping stuff in jc because you've done it in secondary school is like, whoa!]

rgschoir. we got resectioned? not much, actually, because the altos basically remained intact (okay maybe not fully intact because some altos were brought up to soprano 2) with only changes made to the soprano sections. can't exactly say which section i really belong to, because i'm stuck in the middle (like chloe and kayleigh, bye qiqi! XD), but since i remain a sop2 for SSAA pieces, i guess i'm still a sop2. (: [grawr, it would seem that i can go off-pitch at the easiest of things, like during the auditions, which is kind of scary. and my range is now horribly limited. fiona = high high d-flat-going-d, hmph!]

everyone sang is a pretty song - other than the fact that i constantly die at accompaniments due to my hopeless rhythm, which is rather embarrasing considering msloo can actually sightread and still get most of it correct - and psalmus 8 is well, pure petr eben (i.e. atonal, with weird pitching for individual parts but rather cool when put together as a whole, plus always ending with a nice harmonic chord). some bits of it sound really familiar (like the ex ore infantium et lactentium bit as well as the minuistieum paulo part) and also oriental, in a way. i want to know what the latin words mean! you don't really know the genius petr eben is until you see how the music relates with the words, like the ignem accende (or the crazy semiquavers) portion in de spiritu sancto.

O.o this is so, techincal? haha (: [actually no, mich annotated the poem 'everyone sang'!]

and umm, i don't really like the idea of a double / triple bill. it would lessen our stress, perhaps, but we've got quite a substantial repertoire (from prague&vienna, plus more from syf), and even though it's not exactly polished yet, i don't really see why we can't hold it out on our own. (june holidays can do wonders, no?) well, i'm not in the position to judge or anything, so hmm.

orientation. somehow this manages to drain me quite a bit everyday, even though i'm only down for basically raffles initiation. sec1s this year are extreme (like super tall, and umm, the opposite), and they seem more enthusiastic than our batch? (i don't know, i don't really recall a lot of us cheering during our raffles initiation sessions, but i'm not sure about the other classes, so well.) but some of them are really friendly yay (: (and not to mention, some are also downright weird.) i lurk in the vicinity of 103 and 111, haha! (: [and i've found a mortal in 113, no one steals register no. 2 on the class list from me! and i get a waddle mortal, yes! (:]

and lucky sec1s this year, they get what, 9 days of orientation? hey, we only got 4-5?

this is a bit long, but nevermind. 2007's set to be fantabulous! (:

lives, writes, sings, plays the piano, and attempts to sound intellectual at times (conclusion: fails rather miserably).

loves music (almost strictly classical, hurhur & inclusive of faziolis!), literature (& also the sciences - no they are not in conflict), making hopelessly lame puns, laughter, white/milk chocolate, cheesecake, the world & the people in it. list not exhaustive, by the way.

wants the world to be filled with peace, joy and love, and also wants (perhaps a little more selfishly) to be happy, plus lead a life of purpose. that would be more than enough. (:

oh, and she likes embarking on her own 'free hugs!' campaigns after exams and the like; not really sure why. D: (at any rate, you can tell that she's random enough.)

loves you!♥

very plain, she knows; but this is probably herself in its entirety - nothing more than a compilation of perhaps-boring-to-you little things (and the occasional Important Event), but also nothing less than all the brilliant memories which constitutes her life, and perhaps yours.

also interpreted as an inability to express with other things but words (nothing more, nothing less!), although even words sometimes won't do enough. but she does like orange.

v2.0 (230208): maybe solid grey isn't that fantastic after all. but wordy is good, all the same. she's weird, she knows.

ver. i-pretend-that-it-is-3.0-when-i-know-it-is-not (070608): i am boring, take that. (:

v4.0 (200908): got bored, so cut down on the quasi-fanciful stuff even more. perfectly plain now, though somehow the background still doesn't work on safari / google chrome. ):
